A word from the artist
"I found the stone that inspired this sculpture while wandering through a marble storehouse. It was broken into several pieces and I imagined that it had been fractured by something that had sprung from the ground. And so, from the bowels of the earth, these clay hands emerged.
The spectator shares the same support as the sculpture which is placed on the ground. He thus has the feeling of being a witness, even an actor of the scene."
